Today, we are putting the spotlight on the color Pink! Pink represents love, romance, compassion and understanding, and has long been a popular accent color at weddings. As a combination of red and white, pink signifies the passion and power of red, softened with the purity and innocence of white.

As you’ll see in the images below from weddings that we’ve photographed, pink is celebrated in florals, up-lighting, bridal shoes, and even jewelry!

Today’s spotlight color is Green! Green is the color of nature, balance and life. Did you know that green has long been a symbol of fertility, and was once the preferred color choice for wedding gowns in the 15th-century?  Green also symbolizes learning, growth and harmony, and is often used in decorating for its calming effect. For example, guests waiting to appear on TV often wait in a “green room” to relax. Green is thought to relieve stress and help heal.

In recent weddings we’ve photographed, as you’ll see in the images below, green has been used prominently in bouquets, backdrops, bridesmaids’ dresses and more.

San Diego Wedding Photographers show the Twelve Days of Color to highlight Wedding Colors

At True Photography, we love color!  To get in the holiday spirit, we’re counting down the Twelve Days of Color, where we will feature a different color on our blog each day! 

In all of our photos, our process is to bring out as much color as possible, while keeping skin tones natural. We adjust every single image by hand, maximizing the vibrancy but always making sure the scene feels real. We use our own color techniques and never mess with color filters, which can become gimmicky over time. With our signature technique, your wedding images will look amazing now and in 50 years.

Our first featured color is Green!

Meagan and Jim are very excited to “take the plunge” into marriage! So this daring couple decided to do something fitting for their Save-the-Date card engagement photo… they decked themselves out in full wedding ensembles, and got drenched!  

With the help of a waterproof camera casing, and some creative maneuvering, our True team dove right in with them. The resulting photos were captured at the bottom of Jim’s parents’ large underground pool in Fallbrook, CA. 

Check out the results of this whimsical and romantic underwater engagement shoot below. As always, we’d love to hear what you think!

Amy and John chose to tie the knot at the Ultimate Skybox, on the top floor of the exquisite and contemporary Diamond View Tower, in the heart of downtown San Diego. You can’t get much cooler than that! So for their engagement photos, they wanted to mix it up and do something a little different.

Because this fun couple lives near Palm Springs, we headed out to Joshua Tree National Park. The desert was the perfect backdrop for their engagement shoot, including distinctive rock formations, and the twisted branches of native Joshua Trees. It was quite a stark contrast to the glamour of their wedding location! We hope you enjoy these engagement photos from our shoot with Amy and John:
